Active 4.0 - dll is not re-registered

Solved!

I have TestStand 4.0 and 4.1 installed in my system.

Using the TestStand Version Selector I am trying to Make 4.0 Active. I get the report as:The following is a list of files that were not re-registered. You might not have these files due to the installation type you selected when you installed this version of TestStand C:\Program Files\National Instruments\TestStand 4.0\BIN\TSDoNetUIControls.dll How to resolve this issue?

Hi Vidula,

Is this the only file that the version selector complains about? What happens when you attempt to make TestStand 4.1 active again? Do you receive the same report or does TestStand 4.1 activate successfully without any prompts?

Assuming that you can successfully activate TestStand 4.1 and attempting to active TestStand 4.0 again displays the same report, can you please browse to C:\Program Files\National Instruments\TestStand 4.0\BIN\ and verify whether or not the TSDotNetUIControls.dll (I assumed you left out the "t" by accident) file exists in this directory? Note that you should also look for any file with a name that very closely resembles this. For example, you might not have TSDotNetUIControls.dll but you might have a file called TSDotNetUICon$ols.dll in the BIN directory.

If the TSDotNetUIControls.dll does exist in the TestStand 4.0\BIN directory and is named properly, do you also have the corresponding TSDotNetUIControls.tlb file in the BIN directory?

If so, what versions of Visual Studio do you have installed on the machine and what languages do those versions have installed (C#, VB, C++)?

I look forward to your response.

Hi Manooch,

I did the 'repair' for TestStand 4.0 and everything seems to be working fine now.

Thank you,

Vidula

Hi everybody,

I uninstalled one version of Visual Studio and installed a new one. After that, when I try to activate a version of TestStand, I get the following error messages. I have tried repairing TestStand and re-adding the reference, but it didn’t work. Thank you very much for your help.

The cleanest way is probably to uninstall TestStand and re-install

I'm sorry, I also tried different combinations of uninstalling and reinstalling TS and VS (one before the other), but it didn't work.
