Can CVI DLL step determine whether it is running in external instance of CVI?

In TestStand 2.01f, is there a way for a CVI DLL step to programatically
determine whether it is running in an external instance of CVI?

I find Engine.CVIAdapter_ExecuteStepsInCVI() in Programmer Help, but I can
not figure out how to call it in CVI.

Is there another way? Or can someone tell me how to call
Engine.CVIAdapter_ExecuteStepsInCVI() in CVI?

Please ignore... I find I can call from TestStand and pass to CVI DLL.
