Can I use a VI as operator interface in my TestStand deployment instead of a executable?

I want to use my custom operator interface VI (not exe) as operator interface in my teststand deployment. Is this possible or do I have to create a executable from my custom operator interface?

I have tried to check the box "Create program item" for my "operator interface.vi" in the deployment utility in teststand 3.5.

When I install my deployment on a clean target PC the item shows up as a program item but the operator interface can’t be launched, it needs a program to run it (of course). How do I associate is whit LVruntime engine? If it’s possible...
