It is possible, but the way our IT department operates I can't see them actually testing anything they install. My system (the one with the problem) was the first one in our area to get TestStand installed on it.
So does that mean I have to get the person who actually did the install and have them log in and run it to get rid of this error? If there is any way around this without having to use our IT department it would be a much better solution. We don't have the best of luck using them 🙂

I am able to install software, but don't have access to the network drive where the install files are located.
Sounds like I should uninstall TestStand 3.5, install the trial version, then activate it? Our IT department didn't know how to activate TestStand or Labview when the installed it, so we were given the serial number to use to activate our software. Do you think that would do it?
