Code error : -17100

Hello,

Sequence editor Error : File format error. C:\\.....seq is not a sequence file.

Code error : -17100, incorrect format.

Source : TSAPI

This happen after i try to run teststand and the PC restarted with the blue window with error ezusb.sys not working ok. This happen several times. But this time after the PC rebooted, i try reopening my sequence file and it started giving me the above error. I try opening the sequence file with note.txt but the file was empty, but the file size was still 32kbytes. which is weird.  Is there a way to recover my file back?

Your help will really be appreciated. Thanx in advance.

Hello Shalongo,

I'm sorry to hear that your computer blue screened and now you're having trouble opening your sequence file. I provided below some questions and information that'll be helpful for troubleshooting this issue.

1. What version of TestStand are you using?

2. Is there a cause and effect relationship you've been able to establish for the ezusb.sys? When did that error start occurring? What changed?

3. Is the sequence file a protected sequence file? If so, it may be mislabeled as a text file instead of a binary file. I found an old document that addresses this scenario:

"To fix this issue, you must change the SCC file type for the seqeunce file from 'text' to 'binary' and resubmit the file from the system that still contains the valid copy of the sequence file. You may want to back up the valid copy of the sequence file before attempting to perform these operations. If you no longer have a valid copy of the file on the client system that submitted the protected file to SCC, you must revert back an earlier version of the file in SCC that does not enable the protection feature."

Best,

Ben
