I'm assuming that "its" refers to a step? Also, assuming "retract" means collapse and expand?
The only things you can expand and collapse in TestStand right now are the step groups (Setup, Main, Cleanup). There are requests for future versions to allow expand/collapse of flow control blocks.
As far as the line number. If you select a step and look in the status bar at the very bottom of the sequence editor you will see the index for the step. Not sure if this is sufficient for you but it's the best I could come up with.
