Enlarging Top-Level VI front panel

I'm now customizing the TS4.0  version of the LabVIEW operator interface and I have a problem.  The monitor in my office is smaller than the monitor attached to the Rack that tests the UUT.  I'm trying to make the front panel bigger than my desk's front panel so as to take advantage of the lab display size.  I've just started this effort, so I'm seeing all sorts of anomalies, but how do resolve this one.  I've tried some of the VI Properties (i.e. Window Size, Window Run-Time Position).  When I clicked on the Window Size, and clicked the Set To Current Panel Size, I saw a popup saying "The minimize screen size you set exceeds the size of the main screen which will force your window to be larger than the screen.  Do you wish to save these settings?"  I select "OK", and still the screen is not the right size.  After mucking around with the different settings, I've even got to the point where the splash screen flashes momentarily, and disappears, and the top-level front panel doesn't even show up any more.

Hi mrbean,

Are you able to reproduce this problem with a LabVIEW VI alone, or does it only occur in TestStand?  If you can reproduce in LabVIEW, please post a sample VI and I will try to reproduce the problem here at HQ.  If it only occurs in TestStand, let me know and I will ask one of the TestStand Applications Engineers to take a look at your post tomorrow.

Thanks.

Whether I run from TestStand or LabVIEW, I get the same behavior.  I did notice a couple of things though.

1) Within the VI "Full UI - Make Top-Level Window Small" (called from within the VI "Full UI - Launcher", I see the following error code

Property Node (arg 1) in Full UI - Make Top-Level Window Small.vi->Full UI - Launcher.vi
<APPEND>
Property Name: <b>Front Panel Window:Window Bounds</b>

2) Prior to running the launcher, I set the VI properties of the Top-Level VI to have a Minimum Panel Size of 1500 (width) and (Height) of 960, and a Top (25) and Left (70), so I'm not sure why I see the values I'm seeing (see WinBounds of Top Level VI Refnum in attachment).

Thoughts?

Hi mrbean,

I was not able to reproduce your problem.  What version of LabVIEW are you using?  Can you post your project here?

I'm using LV8.5 and TS4.0.  I can't really post my project, as it contains some company-sensitive images/info.  Is there a way we can continue this exchange (i.e. tech support) without a global post?

I'm attaching yet another screenshot in hopes that it sheds some more light.  I'm not clear on why the Launchers FP.WinBounds are being set as the values of the TopLevel vi.  Can someone explain what is going on in this bit of code?

Hi mrbean,

I'm sorry but I still can't reproduce your problem.  I realize you don't want to post your project on a public forum, but are you able to create a simple VI that demonstrates the problem you are experiencing?

If you'd like a more direct line of support, you will need to create a service request (either by email or phone);  be sure to mention this forum thread if you decide to do so.
