Parameters for starting Sequence Editor!

Hi,

I want to start Sequence Editor per command line interface using assigned parameters for sequence file to load and sequence to show.

Trying 'seqedit /?' displays the following information:

Sequence Editor - Error Parsing Commandline
Unrecognized command line flag '/?'.

Command line usage:

SeqEdit.exe []
[/run ]
[/runEntryPoint ]
...

: sequence file to open
: sequence to run
: entry point to run

Multiple sequence files, sequences, and entry points can be specified.

It seems that the sequence name can only be specified
if run option is selected. I want to give the user the opportunity to edit the sequence content directly,
without searching the rigtht sequence name in the space of 'All Sequences'.

Is therefore any solution or workaround available?

The Sequence Editor always first displays the top sequence in the All Sequences view for a sequence file. If you reorder the sequences in the All Sequences view, you could place a sequence that you want to always come up as default. Granted that if you want a different one to come up by default under different senarios, than this suggestion is not a viable solution.

Hi Scott,

Couldn't my requirement be a feature of the next TestStand version? I think your suggested solution doesn't serves the purpose.

At this point in our development, the suggestion will not be possible in the next version of TestStand. It may be something that we could consider after that.

Hi Scott,

will my requested feature to extend the command line parameters (specify the sequence file AND the sequence to be displayed) be realized in one of the next TestStand Releases?
As you can see by the date of this thread i'm waiting for this feature since June 2003.

Suggestions do not always fall on silent ears, although we do have to prioritize them with the many that we get. You may see a "/goto" command line feature in a future version of TestStand.

Hi Scott,

are there any release notes for previous TestStand versions available?
Could you say something about the rollout plan for these versions?

Sunny -
NI.com has many manuals online, Goto http://www.ni.com/support/reference.htm  and select "All Manual Revisions", "Software", "TestStand" and you will end up at:
All Revisions: TestStand

As far as unrelease development, for many different reasons NI (and other companies) typically do not release information about features in products under development.
