Popup

Can you display a message to the operator for x (45)number of seconds then have it close automatically ? I have a Wait ( LV7.1 prototype adapter) in my program. Because the length of time is relatively long, I don't want the operator to think the program "hung up". Displaying some kind of graphic ( like the hour glass when Windows is busy) or just a popup that closes at the end of the time period would be nice.

Ray,
Sorry. Should have given a little more info. The code is in Teststand 3.1. I've looked at the popups in TS but they require you to enter a dialog for the popup button. I don't want the operator to have to push anything. I just want the the popup to display for 45 secs then close. I put spaces in the TS popup and used the timeout feature. Its kind of nice but the dialog button appears with nothing in it. The count down shows up in the upper right of the display box. This is also nice. I just need to get rid of the blank button. Don't want to tempt the operator in pushing a button before its time ! There maybe a better solution. Any suggestions ??

Hi Clint,

Unfortunately there is no facility directly in TestStand for that type of popup, Therefore you will have to generate in Labview or CVI. Hence the example a you mention LV7.1.

I have a used a similar example to display a popup and then remove it after a period of time.

Thanks Ray. I'll try and modify the vi for my application. This sounds like what I want.
