Re-activating

Solved!
Go to solution

Per the help desk I uninstalled everything under NI, purged the registry, ran their clean re-install procedure, and re-installed DS 2010, which all took several hours. When I try to activate it tells me my serial numbers are for a VLA and cannot be used for activation. They are supposed to be under a VLA so what's the rub?

Hi jvh75021,

If your license is under a VLA, then you would typically need to get in touch with your Volume License Manager Administrator to add your username or computer to the license server, and also setup your machine to connect to the server to successfully check out licenses. If you would like to know who your license administrator is, you can call the NI Support Line at 1-866-275-6964 and have someone from our contracts team provide you the contact info for your administrator using your serial number.

Thanks.

We use a license file for disconnected licensing. It didn't like the existing license files so I put them in an Old subdirectory and all went well.
