Hello developers,
I have a strange bug from first version of TS 4.1 Thinking of it is very common to all developers I was waitting but still 4.2 has it and no patch has been released.
Bug is as follows:

Hey Hector,
I do not see this issue. I am using TS 4.1.1. I am attaching a simple example of what I tried. You should be able to open it in 4.2. Is this how you are doing it? Maybe I am doing it wrong.
Thanks,

Hi -
I couldn't reproduce this either. Would you try using the On-Screen Keyboard located at: Start>Programs>Accessories>Accessibilities to put in the ']' character. It will show exactly how the keys are mapped - the key may be mapped to a different character for some reason.
Thanks,
Jim

Hello jigg,
I have tried your seq but I have same bug. I start thinking that is related with spanish keyboard...

Hello TSJim,
Your approach is very interesting.
I have activated the on screen keyboard and I have the same bug!
I have done a little investigation about differences with common keyboards layouts like GB or US.
This is spanish one:
If you want to insert the "]" character you have to press "Alt Gr" and "+" keys. The "Alt Gr" key is same than "Ctrl+Alt" and I suspect that "Ctrl+Alt" + "+" is some kind of shortcut of "auto width" coulmns.
Could some of you try this key combination? "Ctrl-Alt-+"
Thanks,
Hector.

Hi Hector,
I tried <ctrl-alt-+> and got the autofit column width that you are seeing and the key focus jumps to the parameter name. To fix this, you may be able to change the default keyboard layout at Start>Settings>Control Panel>Regional and Language Options. Click the 'Languages' tab and then 'Details'. Click the 'Add...' button and this should give some different options for the keyboard layout. When you find another that may be more intuitive, select it under 'Default input language'.
Let me know if you find a layout that allows the ']' character to be entered more easily.
Thanks,
Jim

Hi TSJim,
These are good news I think! So we can say that our spanish layout has same key shortcut to type "]" than used in TS editor to autofit parameter width.
I think I can not change keyboard layout because is like a get wrong all other applications to solve TS Editor problem.
Next step can be find how to change this short cut. I have tried to find it inside "customize toolbars and menus" (right click on a toolbar). Here you can find some shortcuts but <Crtl-Alt-+> is not there!
I have tried to find a file where I can change this setting but I didn't found it neither.
Some of you know how to change this?
Thanks!
Hector.

Hector -
I have informed R&D of this behavior (ID #197369). In addition to your current workaround of opening the expression browser, you can also use the following keystroke on the number pad: Alt+93.
Hope this helps.

Hello Manooch,
Thanks for informing R&D. How can I use this ID to follow this issue?
From TS 4.0 we are working whith this extrange thing so we can wait a little bit more.
By the way can I ask for complete configuring of short cuts? I guess that maybe some other countries can have similar issues with their keyborad layouts. Don'y you think?
Regards,
Hector.

Hector -
You can track the ID on our Known Issues List and Bug Fix List. The Known Issues List is a document online that is updated periodically so I expect this ID to show up after the next update. When new versions of TestStand are released, the ReadMe contains the Bug Fix List which displays the IDs of the bugs that have been fixed in that version so you will want to check that in the next release of TestStand.
To answer your question, yes other countries are also likely to run into this issue so we're going to do our best to provide a robust solution when we fix this bug.
Thanks for bringing this to our attention.
