Simple view partial testing?

I recently got back into TestStand with LabWindows/CVI but I'm hitting a perplexed problem.

Many moons ago I worked for an avionic company that had LabWindows 5.5 with Test Executive, the precursor to TestStand from what I gather, and in Test Executive you could do partial testing. The reason why partial testing was popular with the technicians was because once the unit was repaired, they would run the step that failed to ensure the unit was indeed repaired with a passing verification, then a full test was run again for the FAA certification.

Now that I'm doing TestStand with LabWindows, I wanted to know how I could use the Simple user control in the sequence view and select certain steps to run, instead of a full test? I know that the full feature user interface will allow you to do this if you press and hold the CTRL key with the mouse click, right click to run the selected steps (or go through the "Execute" on the menu bar) but I don't want to give full control to the operator when running a test, but I would prefer to add in check boxes, hence why I prefer to use simple user interfaces.

Am I missing one or a few steps? Or is there any examples out there that someone knows or could send to me so I can get an idea on what I should do?

Thanks.

The Simple Operator Interface currently only allows you to view the sequence file in run-time. In order to run a specific step, you would have to customize the source code of the operator user interface to display the steps of your sequence at edit time and include a UI control to run that step. Please refer to this KnowledgeBase article for more information.
