TestStand 14 Sequence Editor's new features

Hi,

Since TS14 there is a pretty nice feature when opening sequnce files from older versions.

Typically there was always a star behind your file. Now it is a +. Pretty good because now you will see that "automatic" update

has been performed.

Is there a documentation about such new features, because i was not able to find it in the feature list.

Regards

You mean like that?

or that?

The problem is that sometimes it takes a while to upgrade to the latest version of TestStand and so maybe 2 or 3 new ones have come out since then.  You not only need to look at the features in the latest version but any that have appeared since you last upgraded.

Hi Jigg,

Thats not what l am looking for.....

BTW the white paper was new to me.
Especially the graphics of sharing variables .net/Labview.

NI is pointing it out in help-files, i have read it... but the graphics had more impact to me!

Another great feature as well.

Glad you like that feature. Most of the new features are listed here:

http://zone.ni.com/reference/en-XX/help/370052N-01/tshelp/infotopics/2014whatsnew/

however that one seems to be missing from the list. You are correct that the '+' indicator is to show that a file is modified due to conversions that occurred when it was loaded. You will also get a '+' if the file was modified at load time due to type conflict resolution.

Let us know if you have any additional questions or feedback regarding this.

Hi Doug,

thanks for pointing out.

I was just wondering if there are more characters implemented.

Maybe you have a feature for "#"  Smiley Very Happy

That's unfortunate that this got overlooked in the documentation.  I figured out what it was but I did have a couple guys on my team who misunderstood it.  Thanks for clarifying the data type as well.  I only assumed it was for files saved in different versions of TS.

Good stuff.

There is a tooltip that's displayed that explains the meaning of '+' if you hover over the document tab for a document that's showing a '+' (perhaps this is too subtle though).

Basically, '+' means the file was only modified indirectly by things that happened at load time and not by any direct user interaction.

And no, there is no '#' or other symbols with different additional meanings, just '+' and '*' for now :).
