TestStand Deployment - auto run

Within the TestStand deployment, in the Distributed File tab, I selected the TestExec.exe which made visible the Installer Properties. What I wanted to do was to provide the user a simpler method of bringing up the OI to begin testing. So, in the Installation Destination I selected Startup Directory, I checked Create Program Item, and I provided a name in the edit box (just to the right of the check box). When I run the installation at the target, the test executive comes up automatically after the installation completes. Also, if I restart the target PC, the test exec comes up automatically without being asked. Is there any way to not have it come up automatically?

Hello MrBean,

Windows uses the startup directory to run programs every time you boot your computer. So, if your OI is in the startup directory, it is expected that it would start every time the computer starts. You will need to move the OI from the startup directory to another directory (ie Desktop). You could also make a new deployment and change the Installation Destination to another directory.
