TestStand Licensing for Remote Executions

Solved!
Go to solution

Hi all,

I’m looking for clarification regarding the required licenses for an NI TestStand configuration with remote executions. My plan is to have a single TestStand server instance and N TestStand executors, each with direct access to DUTs.

Do I need to purchase the following?

  • 1× TestStand Development license (for the test developer)

  • 1× TestStand Base Deployment license (for the server machine)

  • N× TestStand Base Deployment licenses (one for each executor machine)

I came across one discussion about this topic, but since it referenced the “TestStand Remote EXE Server” (a term I don’t see in the current documentation), I believe the information might be outdated: Solved: TestStand Remote EXE Server Require Licensing? - NI Community.

Thanks in advance for any help!

Jakub

The thread you are referring to is interesting.... yet very old.

I myself don't know, what is meant by "remote exe server"

I don't think, the TestStand engine will do anything without a license, so IMHO on your non-developement machines, IMHO the Base Deployment would be suficient.

The main parent topic in TestStand help is Executing Sequences Remotely, and there are additional sub-topics.

Yes the TestStand engine that loads under REngine.exe on the remote system needs at least the TestStand Base Deployment License.
