Teststand & LabVIEW Licence - Report generation

I have a TestStand 2017 Debug Deployment licence and LabVIEW 2018 Professional Development system Licence on my system. because of cost cutting, we were thinking of  degrading the LabVIEW professional to LabVIEW base licence. My question is: will the LabVIEW licence degrading have any impact on TestStand Report generation? I create TestSTand report in Excel at the end of each test. LabVIEW base version does not offer Report generation for Microsoft Office. I just want to be sure that it is completely independant of TestStand . Am i wrong?

Thanks in advance

It depends on how you have implemented, if the report generation is part of TestStand then nothing to do with LabVIEW License change. Sometimes Developers Take XML Report of TS and Implement Report Generation in LabVIEW using Report Generation Toolkit, In such cases you may have issues.

Interesting question....

The Pro version brings those VIs, so you can use them. AFAIK the Base just don't have them.

Technically it should be possible to use those VIs (if you have them in some kind of lib) also in the Base.

The legal aspect is a far more challenging one.

Are you actally developing on the system in question or do you just need to debug? In the latter case, you might want to consider using a debug and deployment license (which has also seen a price increase yet is still a perpetual license)

@PalanivelThiruvenkadam: report generation is part of TestStand. Intially there was only TestSTand Debug Deployment license on the system. So that part is now clarified. Thanks for your help.

@Oli_Wachno: The system needs some more development. Now the interesting question am having is: what kind of LabVIEW development can i do with TestStand Debug Deployment Environment license? I checked the NI Homepager and it says "Debugging steps and sequences involves making minor changes to these components to fix issues in the application. Making changes to steps and sequences that add or improve functionality is considered development and requires a development license." So am wondering what kind of programming in LabVIEW can be done with Debug license? I might need to create new VIs to do read some String functions and extract info or Read arrays and find a specific values, Zero cross detection on signals etc. Will those be possible with Debug License. I dont want to uninstall the Development License and verify it as i may not be able activate it again online due to some IT issues.

Some more details:

TestStand as well as LabVIEW have a Debug and Deployment license.

They basically just allow you to maintain your program IMHO this includes fixes yet no developing of new features.

Might not be what you need...
