I a glad that you have figured out the solution to your problem but I want to further elaborate the solution regarding 0xc0000142 to some people who might not have the same reason to get this problem. The solution to this problem is to do a clean reboot and disable non windows services and startup programs. By doing this, this problem will go away for that moment and time. Now the next steps that you need to carry out is to see what were the most recent installed programs on your system since this error is due to a corrupt program. When you find the culprit just delete it or if possible find a patch for that problem and you are good to go.
