Unable to locate package TestStand during installation

Solved!
Go to solution

Hi,

I'm receiving a strange error in the Package Manager when trying to install TestStand 2019: "Unable to locate package 'TestStand (64-bit) (>= 19.0.1.49152-0+f0)' with a compatible version and architecture." This is a Windows 10 computer and the NI Package Manager is listed as version 19.5.0 in Apps & features. Things we've tried:

-Running installation on an administrator account.

-Installing the 32-bit version.

-Whitelisting *ni.com* on corporate antivirus firewall.

I am new to TestStand and am eager to get going with a new install for my project. Any help would be greatly appreciated!

Best,
Jake

Are you installing it from the product page?

I hit the same error you did.  Did you try and do it from NIPM on the products page?

Jigg,

Can you confirm whether you see issue with online download or download of ISO? If ISO, 2019 or 2019 f1?

Have you seen with 64-bit and/or 32-bit?

Just through the same link above.  When I download the ISO from here it works: https://www.ni.com/en-us/support/downloads/software-products/download.teststand.html#show-offline-in...

I just tried the link above and then just now tried 32-bit from here: https://www.ni.com/en-us/support/downloads/software-products/download.teststand.html#305461

Same issue.

I tried from both links

https://www.ni.com/en-us/support/downloads/software-products/download/packaged.teststand.305461.html

https://www.ni.com/en-us/support/downloads/software-products/download.teststand.html#305461

Installing on a clean install of Windows with only NI Package Manager 19.5

but I did not receive any errors, and TestStand was installed both times.

It may be worth it to try directly from NIPM as Jigg suggested earlier.

It can also be worthwhile to disable any anti-virus software (to ensure it is not interfering).

Do you have any other NI software installed? Any other versions of TestStand?

Thanks all for the help. The NIPM approach did not work, but the ISO did. Seems as though my company's web filter was getting in the way - whitelisting ni.com was not enough so perhaps there is a separate domain it pulls the files from.

Besides ni.com you may also try white-listing download.ni.com specifically but I'm happy the ISO worked as well
