Version of NI steptypes

Hallo, may collegue and I  both use Teststand 3.1.  Due to unknown reason ( maybe loading some example code from NI) the version of some of the NI provided steptypes differ now.  On my colleagues system PassFailTest and Action is at 3.1.0.1 and EditSubstep is at 3.1.0.9095. But on My system insists on having  PassFailTest and Action is at 3.1.0.2 and EditSubstep at 3.1.0.9098. Even a repair installation and copying the cfg und components/user directories from my collegue doesn't switch back my system back to the old versions. How to get the old versions onto my system again ?

Hi,

Dont forget to copy the Components\NI folder as will, because it might be assoicated with one of the Callback sequence file, or Process Model sequence File or the Report sequence files.

Doesn't the repair installation overwrite any changes in components/NI ?

Well , the problem became more and more strange but now we've solved it.

First I uninstalled Teststand 3.1 and moved the remaining installation directory away. Then I did a fresh install from installation media. The versions were OK.  Then I replaced the whole components directory with my colleague's one.  Versions still OK . But when I replaced the cfg directory , the new versions suddenly showed up. Tested that cfg again on my colleague's PC: Versions OK.

So what's wrong with that cfg ? After some search we've found that testexec.ini has a section [Config.TypePalettes.Include] which pointed to the typepalettes of the parallel Teststand 3.0 installation on our PCs. On my PC these 3.0 typepalettes were "infected" with the new versions.

Does a parallel installation automagically include the typepalettes of the older version ?  Or did I just forget to have done that configuration ?

Hi,

strange!

its not normal, sounds like you used the testexec.ini from your TS3.0 installation when you first installed TestStand TS3.1.

Anyway, at least you have sorted it out.
