You should not have any NI installed 4.1 type palettes in use in 4.2. You must have copied over your testexec.ini to 4.2 and gotten the 4.1 ones and then choose to use the older versions of the types for most of the types. For NI types you should always have the version that corresponds to the version of TestStand you are using. You should NOT be loading the 4.1 type palettes at all. You need to remove the 4.1 type palettes from your type palettes doc and  install 4.2 on a clean machine to get the correct version of the type palettes before you modified them and copy those over to the correct place for 4.2.

 

Once you are done and look under All Types, all of the NI installed step types should be version 4.2.something. Unless you fix this you are likely to see other subtle problems, not just the ones you are seeing with call executeable.
