to enable the user to retrieve a stored waveform from the “scope to a spreadsheet file” using GPIB communication.

You've posted to the TestStand forum. You should re-post your question to the Instrument Control forum and provide some necessary information - such as the make and model of the scope you are using. But first, did you go to the Instrument Driver Network and search for a driver for the scope? If there is a driver, you should be able to use that to accomplish your task.

Once you have looked at the resources mentioned in Dennis' post, if you still require more help, would it be possible for you to provide us with the additional information requested in his post along with a bit more information on the "scope to a spreadsheet file" which you mentioned in your post and perhaps a brief description of what you are trying to accomplish?
