Hi James,

I dont see anything wrong with the sysdef. The error information you posted from the console is a screenshot and I think the important information is cut off. Can you highlight all the text (click, ctrl+A) and copy paste it into a text file.

OK so this is the real problem happening:

****************************

System error encountered.

:::Details:::

Error code: -89140

Error Message: Driver cannot complete the route, because the only way to make the

route requires a trigger bus line, and no trigger bus has been configured in MAX

for this device.

If you have a PXI chassis, make sure it has been properly identified in MAX. If y

ou are using a PCI device, create a RTSI cable in MAX that includes your PCI devi

ce even if you are not using any RTSI cables.

Property: SampClk.OutputTerm

Destination Device: PXI1Slot5

****************************

You need to go into MAX and find your RT target. Based upon the name of the card "PXI1Slot5" I assume it is a PXI chassis. However, I don't think you have identified the PXI chassis so NI VeriStand cannot make the appropriate signal routing. Our newer PXI Express chassis do this automatically, but older PXI chassis don't. Under the RT Target, expand devices and interfaces, and follow the instructions shown on #2 here: http://www.ni.com/white-paper/11136/en/

Hi Stephen,  Why would I need to do this? my PXI chassis has been working fine for 1.5 years.  MAX can see it ok : see attached.
