Stephen,
Do I actually have to install something or just put the scan engine file in the right location? I don't see an .exe file or anything to install. I deleted the old folder and installed it again. I have the same errors come up.

Hello,
No there is no installer.
Follow these steps:
I'm hoping this erase, redownload, and reinstall clears up any sort of corruption

Add-On Installation Instructions:
----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
*With NI VeriStand closed*:
1) Copy the "Scan Engine" directory into your "<Public Documents>\National Instruments\NI VeriStand 20xx\Custom Devices" directory.
Note: The location of <Public Documents> will vary depending on your operating system:
Windows XP: C:\Documents and Settings\All Users\Documents
Windows 7 or Vista: C:\Users\Public\Documents
**Optional Error Code Installation**
If you want the appropriate text for the custom error codes shown below to be displayed by NI VeriStand and the Real-Time Target, follow these steps:
1) Copy the "scanengineveristand-errors.txt" to <Program Files>\National Instruments\Shared\Errors
2) FTP the "scanengineveristand-errors.txt" to your Real-Time target (you can use windows explorer and type in "ftp://<ip>") into the "\ni-rt\system\errors" directory.
These are the directions that I followed. I still get:
Missing subVI Scan Engine Custom Device.lvlib:Host - Get Module Data.vi in VI Scan Engine Custom Device.lvlib:Host - Get Slaves.vi.
Missing subVI Scan Engine Custom Device.lvlib:Host - Get Module Data.vi in VI Scan Engine Custom Device.lvlib:Host - Get HW Config.vi.

OK I'm going to set up a clean virtual machine to test with

OK I've reproduced it

So I installed NI VeriStand and the Driver's associated with it... then I saw the error and the linker tester EXE said this:
"Missing subVI Scan Engine Custom Device.lvlib:Host - Get Masters.vi in VI Scan Engine Custom Device.lvlib:Host - Get HW Config.vi."
Then I installed NI Industrial Communications for EtherCAT 2.6 and the error went away and it worked great. That is a little unexpected since I thought you didn't need EtherCAT driver for that button... but apparently you do. I'll add that to the known issues list.
So it appears you have some driver issue. I would try repairing your EtherCAT driver and possibly your NI-RIO driver.

I repaired my NI Industrial Communications for EtherCAT 2.6 and it did not affect anything. SO I re installed it, which didn't work. I repaired my NI-RIO driver and that did not affect anything either

Hmm... is there another computer there that it works on? Something is certainly wrong with yours. I want to try to isolate the issue.
Thanks for your patience.

My supervisor set up our PXI system and made a Veristand program to test it out. He got the scan engine to work when creating the file. This was last week.

I decided to uninstall all of the National Instruments products on my computer and reinstall them from the CD. Now my scan engine works. I don't know what exactly caused the problem, but atleast its fixed.
