Scan Engine & EtherCAT Custom Device Feedback

Looks like it was something like that.  This BIOS doesn't have hyperthreading per sae but some other form of multi-core/turbo boost stuff buried in its over clocking features.  I tried to turn it all off which actually bumped it down to 2 cores, but I can now run it (at least) 2khz with only 13/15 % cpu usage so you are definitely right on regarding the thread stuff. I'll try to figure out which setting actually "fixed" it, but it looks like I'm good to go!  Thanks

Hello,

I am having a problem getting the scan engine to work properly on my 9144 ethercat. I recieve an error 1003 everytime I try to scan for modules or try to load an FPGA bitfile. We manually selected one of the modules and found that it was reading correctly. The project will deploy. Have Industrial communications for ethercat 2.6 installed and had our NI rep make sure the new scan engine was installed properly. I have a file from another user who scanned the ethercats correctly and I can deploy and record from that file without any problems. Please let me know if you have any idea what is causing this.

Thank you,VeriStand error 1003.JPG

what version of NI-RIO do you have installed on your host computer? This was a known issue in 12.0 fixed in 12.1 and 13.0

To help me diagnose the issue, can you do a test for me?

Run the attached executable and then paste this path into the top path control "vi path": C:\Users\Public\Documents\National Instruments\NI VeriStand 2013\Custom Devices\Scan Engine\Scan Engine - Configuration.llb\Main - Auto Detect Modules.vi

Then click the 'play' button at the top and paste the results of the "VI linker errors" text box here

Stephen,

These are the errors that it shows.

Missing subVI Scan Engine Custom Device.lvlib:Host - Get Module Data.vi in VI Scan Engine Custom Device.lvlib:Host - Get Slaves.vi.
Missing subVI Scan Engine Custom Device.lvlib:Host - Get Module Data.vi in VI Scan Engine Custom Device.lvlib:Host - Get HW Config.vi.

Hmm.. that makes no sense. Those VIs are there. I just redownloaded from the website the files and everything works for me.

Can you delete your installed files and redownload the zip file and reinstall?

Thanks

I've had issues similar to this when I forgot to install the I/O Variable Remote Configuration component to the RT System.  You should double check that you have that installed.

Thanks,

The host VI wouldn't be broken with a linker error due to a target software install issue. So there is something wrong on the host
