6070e error

Hello,

I have a PXI8146RT with PXI6602, 6013, and 6070E. I have used the cross lan cable to communicate between PC and PXI.
But when I run MAX, I could not see 6070E in my system in the MAX. PC could recognize the PXI 6602 and 6013. But PC could not recognize only 6070E.
I installed everythings, which are new version (Labview, Driver, and so on).
Aslo OS of PC is XP.
Please let me the solution.

Hello, I've got a few questions/suggestions:
So are you running your OS and MAX on the PXI controller? Have you tried the 6070E in multiple slots? Can you swap the 6070 with the 6602 (slot for slot)? Any different results? Has the 6070E ever worked? Do you have access to another PXI chassis to try it out in? In the Windows device manager, does the 6070E show up? What devices are shown in the windows device manager? If you see a DAQ device that is not properly configured, please delete it from the device manager. Reboot the computer and see if it recognizes the card. Check into these suggestions and see if you get the same results.

Thank you for your response.
I tried to do your suggestion but MAX on PC could not recognize 6070E.
And I communicate by using a cross lan cable between PC and PXI 8146RT.
I never try to set the 6070E in my PC. So I Could not see any PXI in window device manager as you said.
I only saw 7613 and 6602 on MAX on PC. And I could not see 6070E.
IF you have any idea, Please let me know.

So are you running a real time operating system on your RT controller? If you are running Windows, can you see the 6070E in MAX on your controller?

Host PC is operating on WINDOWS XP.
I could not see 6070E in My System on MAX on windows. But I could see 6713 and 6602 by using RDA. And I could see 6713, 6070E, and 6602 in remote system.
And I tried to use Labview RT Target by using IP. But I got a error. The error is that I need to make device number. So I just used the number in remote system in MAX. After that I still got the same error.

RT systems will be able to see your DAQ cards using only RDA server if you want to use Traditional NI DAQ. I would higly recommend you to move to NI-DAQmx driver which is included in the newer versions of NI-DAQ available for free on our website here:
http://digital.ni.com/softlib.nsf/webcategories/85256410006C055586256BBB002C128D?opendocument&node=132060_US
Once you have installed a new version of NI-DAQ, you will be readily be able to see the DAQ card in MAX under Remote System>>Your PXI RT System>>NI-DAQmx Devices. But if you wanted to stay with Traditional NI-DAQ Device, then you have to use RDA Server and RDA server can be used as follows: In MAX go to Tools>>Traditional NI DAQ Configuration >> Remote DAQ Configuration and enter your IP address. Then a new window will pop up and in this window when you expand the Traditional NI-DAQ devices, you should be able to see it. The RT Controller is running PharLap real time OS and LabVIEW RT modules runs on this OS.

Thank you for your help.

I tried to do the instruction, which you gave me. But I still could not see 6070E. I posted the screenshots. How can I use DQAmx under remote system? Please tell me how to build DQAmx.

Hi,
I would like to ask about the setup of your application. Are you trying to run a VI on your Windows PC which acquires data remotely from the PXI-6070E? If so, RDA is the proper method. However, if you run the VI on the PXI-8146RT target instead, you don't need to use RDA, you can simply use DAQmx. The reason I bring this up is because RDA is only supported by Traditional DAQ and not DAQmx.

As I understand it, you can see all your devices under Remote Systems » OA48F3 » PXI-System » Chassis. From your screenshots it appears that you have Traditional DAQ 7.3.0 installed on the PXI-RT controller (Remote Systems » OA48F3 » Software). However, what is the version of Traditional DAQ installed in your local PC (check under My System » Software)? Both these versions have to be the same. If not, you can right-click on Remote Systems » OA48F3 » Software and select Install Software and install the current version onto the controller.

Also, we need to ensure that your PXI-6070E device is working properly. Best way to check this is to take all the other devices out and only plug in the PXI-6070E. Also, try different slots to make sure none of the slots are bad.

Please try these things and post a response. We will do our best to help you out with this.

Have a great day!

Hi,

I want to Labview RT. So I used IP address to set the real-time in Labview. And then I want to control servo motor by using 6070E. I need to set the device number in Labview vi, which I made. So I used the device number under Remote system because 6070E did not appear in My system by using RDA. But I still got a error in Labview. The error is that I need to set the device number of 6070E in My system in MAX.
And I tried to plug 6070E in the different slots. ButI got a same situation. 6070E did not appear in My system on MAX when I used Tool >> Tradiational NI-DAQ Configuration >> Remote DAQ configuration.
And All software's upgraded. So the version of software in PC and PXI is same.
But I wonder if the case of which 6070E is out of order, 6070E could not appear in Remote system. Right?
6070E is in Remote system. So I think the condition of 6070E is good. Is my thought right?
