Can't Detect PXIe-5764 in MAX or Device Manager.

Solved!

Need help troubleshooting this process.

PXIe-5764 card is placed inside NI PXIe-1071 Chassis. Communication between Host and Chassis is done using NI PXIe and NI PCIe 8381 using Express link. MAX detects NI PXIe 8381 but I am unable to see my PXIe-5764 card. I downloaded the FlexRIO 19.0 driver which is on the NI website. It is a Disc Image File called ni-flexrio_19.0.0_offline.iso. The installation took multiple hours and is supposed to be compatible with this hardware. I tried putting the card in a different slot and also in a different chassis, still no luck. I feel like I'm missing a driver somewhere. Any suggestions?

In Device Manager, I see "PCI Data Acquisition and Signal Processing Controller" under Other Devices. It says that drivers for this device are not installed. I think this could be the PXIe-5764 digitzer card, but I am not sure. I'm now downloading FlexRIO 18.7 version to try instead. I also found PXI Platform Service 19.1 installation software, but I don't know if those are necessary.

See the GETTING STARTED GUIDE PXIe-5764 http://www.ni.com/pdf/manuals/376460b.pdf see page 4 (Installing the Application Software and Driver)

I have followed this starter guide from the beginning and checked, for the fourth time, the steps again after your suggestion. It is not leading me anywhere closer to a solution. I only get a verification that I have downloaded and installed what is shown to be the appropriate driver, but the PXIe is not being detected.

Since you have tried it so many times, maybe you need to try removing all NI software.  What is the form of uninstall that you follow?  NI Package Manager or Control Panel?

I didn't uninstall and reinstall the whole driver each time, I just verified my steps since the former would be extremely lengthy and this host has a lot of required LabVIEW software installed already. Instead, I downloaded FlexRIO 18.7 version. After the installation, it added/modified: FlexRIO with Modular I/O --> Real-Time and Embedded --> FlexRIO Recommended Software Sets, FlexRIO with Integrated I/O--> Development Support 18.7 --> LabVIEW 2018 (32-bit) Support & LabVIEW 2017 (32-bit) Support, and NI LabVIEW 2018 FPGA Module f1 Patch (32-bit). After rebooting the system following the installation, MAX recognized the PXIe-5764. I was afraid that the 19.0 version didn't include the Support software as I mentioned in my question and seeing that it added/changed LV2018 & 2017 support it might have been it. Who knows.

If anyone is trying to install drivers for PXIe-5764, try FlexRIO 18.7 instead of FlexRIO 19.0.
