Dear all,
I am trying to install the PCMCIA Cardbus 8310 on a laptop buth with no success. Here are the details:
-- Laptop Models tested: Dell Latitude D620, Dell Latitude D410
-- Windows XP freshly installed.
-- Driver installed: "8310_xp.zip"; 1V0 as available on the NI site.
While installing the driver, all goes as detailed in the cardbus installation guide "371625a.pdf".
However, checking the MS Windows Device Manager, as in Fig. 7 "PXI Module Shown In Device Manager Tree" of the installation guide, the PXI module is in fact NOT present. What I see (for both laptops) is:
--> STARGEN PCI-2-PCI BRIDGE.
------> STARGEN OTHER BRIDGE
Therefore, there is no PXI in the device manager tree.
Later, I connected the Cardbus interface to the PXI chassis, step-by-step, exactly as detailed in the installation guide, observing the "power up sequence" and checking that the RX and TX cables are NOT crossed.
None of the leds on L0 port of the PXI lights up.
Please help me solve this issue.
Thank you very much,
Rostami.

Rostami,
Your laptop models have not been tested, see http://zone.ni.com/devzone/cda/tut/p/id/5036.
Try install on compatible laptop.
