DECS AVR ethernet connected to PXIe

Hello all,

Im using a PXIe-8135 running windows 7 and LabVIEW 2015.  I have a DECS 250 AVR connected to it via ethernet cable and am able to ping my devices IPaddress.  However the device cannot be connected through NI MAX.  I have tried the wizard in NI MAX to add TCP/IP address as well as manually entered information, with no luck.  I am very inexperienced in networking so bear with me.  Thank you for your time and help with this matter

Best,

John

Below is a tutorial that can help you get started with this application:

'Ethernet Instrument Control Tutorial'

Is your instrument directly connected to your computer or through a network switch?

Are your PC and instrument on the same subnet?

'Subnetwork'

What version of NI-VISA do you have installed?

Thanks for the response.

i am using NI VISA 15.0, and the device is directly connected through ethernet cable.  I have tried the first link numerous times and through all the different options.  However, I noticed the subnets are off.

the PXI subnet is 255.255.254.0

and the AVR is 255.255.255.0

Could this be the issue?

thanks,

John

Those are not subnets, they are masks. Did you read the linked article? What is the IP addresses of your pc and the instrument? Also, in order to use :INSTR type of resource, the instrument must be either VXI-11 or LXI. Have you verified that it is?
