Error 88302 when running the PXIe 6674T

Hello,

 

I got two PXIe 1085 chassis each one of them has a 6674T module installed in the timing slot.

 

The timing modules do show up in the MAX, but 

I keep getting the 88302 internal error has occured message when I try to do the self - test, execute the test panel.

 

The NI Sync version installed is 3.3.5 which I belieave is the leatest greatest one.

 

Any suggestions on how to help me resolve this issue and get my module up and running would be wellcome.

Dear Maciej

 

This is symptomatic of a corrupted registry entry on your OS.  The first thing I would advise doing is to repair your DAQmx drivers by going into control panel -> Add/Remove Programs -> National Instruments Software and try repairing the relevant driver.  You could also try to reset the MAX database by selecting Tools -> Reset Configuration Data.

Hi Rob,

 

Thanks for the post.

Unfortunately I did the Database Repair and that din't help.

 

Regarding the DAQmx re-install.

This is a Timing Card so it falls under the NI Sync driver set would you mind telling me why I should reinstall DAQmx?

Just an update I repaired the DAQ MX ( although it was a clean install ) and the issue still persists.

Dear Mac,

 

Thank you for letting me now.  I was following this KB ( http://digital.ni.com/public.nsf/allkb/19E7993CF8366EED8625764200771C68?OpenDocument ) on the issue.  Can I ask what version of DAQmx drivers or NI Sync?

 

Have you tried repairing the Sync drivers also?

Yes I restored Sync.

 

Sync ver is 3.3.5 and DAQmx is 9.6.2

At the moment we susspect there is something not working on the Firmware Side of the card.

Dear Mac,

 

This is typically an error that comes from a missing component from the driver, or a corrupt driver install.  You seem to have ran though all of the suggested workarounds for this issue.  Did any of your software installations come from a CD?  If so, try downloading it from the web instead and installing from there.  Do you have another computer system you can try out this hardware on?  This might show us different results, and also clarify if it is a board issue or system issue.

 

You could also try updating yor DAQmx Drivers to version 9.8; http://joule.ni.com/nidu/cds/view/p/id/4297/lang/en

This sounds to me like a driver initialization issue. This can occur if the driver detects a fault with the hardware during load. If you check the system event log on Windows you might see some error messages that indicate the source of the issue.

Just an update.

Both Chassis I've mentioned are controlled via an external PC ( Using the MXI Connection )

When I've used an embedded controlelr the issue doens't happen... I'll look into the versions of DAQmx and Sync on the controler and see if this helps me out... as I forgot to note them down yesterday.

Hi Maciej,

 

The NI-Sync 3.4.1 release went live today. Since NI-Sync 3.3.5, we fixed a couple issues that can affect the PXIe-6674T driver initialization. You might try installing NI-Sync 3.4.1.
