Hi,
When I install Geotest's GTDIO drivers on our PXI-8106 system which has other National Instruments cards, I find that the network access becomes problematic. Can someone at NI repeat this problem simply by installing the GTDIO.exe file from Geotest's website, please? The PXI-8106 uses INTEL(R) PRO/1000 PM network card.
Can the PXI-8106 controller be fitted with a different Network adapter card?
I don't see this problem with my desktop that uses INTEL(R) 82566DM-2 Gigabit network connection.
Please help.
Thanks.
Anand

Hi Anand,
What kind of problem are you seeing with network access using these drivers? If you uninstall the drivers from the controller, do you still see the problem? On your desktop, do you have the Geotest drivers installed and you are not seeing the problem?
The network adapter card on the 8106 is board mounted and it will not be possible to change out that card. Let me know what you find out about my other questions and I'll my best to help out, thank you.

Hi Kyle,
Thanks for your response. Much appreciated.
When I attempt to access a web link using internet explorer it brings up the 'page cannot be displayed' error with a tab for check network connectivity. Once I check network connectivity, it gives me access to https websites. This has to be done for EVERY link. Other diagnostics.
ping www.google.com - unresolved address or server timed out.
tracert www.google.com - * * server timed out.
Also, Mozilla Firefox does not even launch.
I think the OS might have got corrupted in some way since system restore does not resolve the issue.
If at your end, you are able to install GTDIO.exe on a sample PXI-8106 system running WinXP and still access the internet, it means there was a problem during that install on my machine which might have corrupted the OS. My system here is a PXI-8106 controller, PXI-1042 chassis, PXI-6259 (2 nos), PXI-6551 (1 no) and a Geotest GX5292.
Thanks!

Hi Anand,
I apologize, but we do not test equipment or offer that type of service here through the forums. The issue does sound like it could be a corrupted OS since you are not able to launch Firefox and your internet does work regardless, although with a workaround. Maybe you can try to reimage the controller following the instructions here and see if that doesn't fix the corruption. If you feel like your controller is in need of repair, you can contact our RMA department and send it in for repair.
