How do I recover from a NI-8352 failure?

Good Afternoon,

I have a NI-8352 computer controller that is not booting up. It is XP and has four 250GB drives setup as RAID-0 used as a PXI controller. During startup, the NI-8352 hangs up during WINDOWS startup. The

I have the XP Recovery disk but this will format the disks and I will loose the data. Acronis is also available that will allow me to "Restore the original system installation".

1. How can I recover the data on the drives?

2. If I use Acronis recovery, will this wipe out all data on the disks?

Thank you

Hi R_Rodriguez,

There is a way to fix this without losing your data. Instead of "Restore the original system installation" do a repair on the XP installation. This will let you boot again in XP, without losing your data.

I have tried using the XP disc, but when I use it, it does not give me an option to repair the OS. The only option I have when I use the XP disc is to reformat the hard drive to do a re-install. It asks if I want to do a complete reformat or a partial reformat, but it does not give me the option to repair or repair the OS.

I do not want to reformat because I will lose the my data. Is there another disc that will repair the OS.

The name of the disc I have is labeled "NI EMBEDDED CONTROLLER OEM RE-INSTALLATION DVD MICROSOFT WINDOWS XP PROFESSIONAL SERVICE PACK 2"

Any other help?

Thanks
