How do I upgrade my PXI-8187 from LV7 to LV 2010?

I have an older PXI-8187 system, 4-M CPU, 2.5 GHz, 1 GB RAM, 25 GB HD running LV 7 that I wish to update to LV 2010.  The system OS is WIN XP sp1.  Thanks!

Based off of the system requirements of LabVIEW, which can be found here, you should have no problem in upgrading your LabVIEW 7 to LabVIEW 2010. In order to upgrade to a newer version of LabVIEW, you would need to purchase an activation license. Please feel free to PM me with your contact information if you want me put you in touch with one of our account representatives.

Because you have a PXI controller, your options for installing LabVIEW include installing from an external drive, ethernet, or internet download.

We have a license for LV 2010 and the distribution DVD's.  Do I simply copy the disk(s) to a USB external hard drive and plug it into the PXI chassis?
