I wanted to update the old BIOS of the NI PXIe-8821 that I have and downloaded the file on the support ressources.
The zip is clearly labelled as "BIOS_PXIe-8821_2.1.7f0_USB" and I used it to generate my bootable device as is described in the manual.
However, when you boot on it, the autoexec.bat at the start state:
"PXIe-8840QC Embedded Controller BIOS v2.1.7f0 Update Utility.
This Program will update the BIOS on your PXIe-8840QC Embedded Controller.
If this is not a PXIe-8840QC do not proceed with the BIOS flash.
Type "FLASHDOS.bat" at the prompt to update the BIOS."
I'm not sure if I should still proceed with the update and this BIOS is common between the models, but I prefer not to flash a wrong BIOS on the equipment.
Can someone help me on figuring out how I can ensure this is the right file?

Hi George,
The 8821 and 8840QC use the same BIOS file, so you're good to proceed with the BIOS update. This is stated in the finer print of the 8821 Firmware download page.
