Intermittent Error Messages with PXIe-7966R card

Solved!
Go to solution

We have a test system with 7966R cards and are getting occasional error messages, see attached.

Has anybody had similar problems?

Is this a new system under development or an existing tester that is starting to cause issues?

IO module may not be securely connected to the 7966 causing intermittent errors.

The two errors are different but related to some kind of timeout.  Bitfile load time should not be too long.  Need more info on the circumstances causing the error.

The test system has been in use for a few months and has now started throwing errors.  We suspect a poor connection between the PXIe-7966R and the backplane in the PXI rack.  We will try removing and reinserting the card to see if it cures the communication problem.

I would also check the adapter module, the card connected to the 7966 on the front end that provides I/O.

We have just disconnected the adapter module and unplugged and refitted the 7966R.  problem solved!

Apparently there was a weak electrical connection somewhere which has been improved by unplugging and replugging.
