LabVIEW 6i 30 day Eval installed under Red Hat 8.0 expires immediately

LabVIEW Eval for Linux worked fine under RH 7.3, but when I upgraded to the (required) current site standard RH 8.0 it appears not to install correctly. LabVIEW will run once only, the next time it shows as having expired. Followed NI recommendation regarding RPM under 8.0, no luck.

Hi Druid,

You will not be able to use the LabVIEW 6i evaluation anymore because this evaluation version has a life span of 3 years (besides the evaluation period of one month). The LabVIEW 6i evaluation period ended last October and hence it will only allow you to use it for one time only.

If you do need to evaluate the current version of LabVIEW (7.0), please visit http://ni.com/labview . Please keep in mind that this evaluation version is only for Windows.

If you have any more questions about this, please call your local sales representative at 1 800 433 3488.

Hello Feroz,

The application I am targeting with the eval is hosted on a Linux 8.0 based system. Changing the OS is not an option. Please confirm what I think you said, which is that NI does not at this time have an application that supports a current Linux OS?

Thank you for your prompt reply,

Hi Druid,

NI does have applications that supports a current Linux OS. It's just that there is no LabVIEW 7.0 evaluation version for Linux. We do have the LabVIEW 7.0 for Linux OS (but not an evaluation version).

I hope this makes more sense. Please visit http://ni.com/labview and you will be able to find more information on LabVIEW 7.0 for Linux.
