We've recently unpacked an NI PXI-8110 controller (in a PXI-1024 chassis) and attempted to boot the controller.
We received a message prompting the user "install boot media". I re-booted and entered the BIOS setup screen.
On the LabVIEW RT tab, I selected "Boot Configuration" then selected "Windows/Other OS".
Navigated to "Save & Exit" -> "Save Changes & Rest". Same results on boot-up -> no boot media installed.
I have the Win 7 Installation DVD but I didn't see an option in BIOS to use USB drive as one of the search options.
Is the USB drive searched during the boot process by default for this controller?
Thanks for your input.

Hi Leroy 99,
I see you're working with the PXI-8110 and it sounds like you're using a dual boot configuration. Did you get this controller with it set up to dual boot into Windows and RT, or are you trying to install a new operating system on it? We do have an article on our website on hard drive recovery and OS installation for PXI. Which expalins how you can recover an operating system.
If your device shipped dual booting this OS, it's possible that something went wrong in shipping. If this is the case, you might look at contacting NI to troubleshoot an RMA.
