I have been trying figure out how to get the DAQ assistant only to realize that I have NI-DAQ Installed and not NI-DAQmx, or at least DAQmx it is not doing what I want it to do, (help me get my signal in to LabVIEW). So I first do the "reset DAQmx Configuration" in MAX, then I go for the "Convert Traditional NI-DAQ configuration to NI-DAQmx..." In the first step, (or window that pops up), I have a green check mark and Status complete for each:
Devices
SCXI
Scales
Channels
I push next and then under "Traditional NI-DAQ Device" I see my PXI-6115 (NI-DAQ Device 2), however under "Corresponding NI-DAQmx Device" I have "No Matching Device". I have a warning about a possible failure of devices converting. Of course when I press next everything under "Channel Name" has a yellow circle with an exclamation point in it and there is no suitable device to convert to.
I don't understand what to do so that I can convert to DAQmx and thus use the DAQ assistant, (I am guessing a VI icon will appear under the input icon on the functions palette.
in MAX in the "Configuration" panel, under My System -> Software, I have LabVIEW 8.6 as well as LabVIEW Run-Time of 7.0, 8.21, and 8.6
I have some others such as Measurement & Automation Explorer 4.5 NI-DAQmx 7.0.1 and Traditional NI-DAQ 7.0.1.
I am currently downloading the NI-DAQmx 8.8 (NIDAQ880f2.exe)
Any ideas on what to do?
Thank you,
Brian
