MXI communications failure diagnostics

Are there any available diagnostics for determining which end of the communications link is causing MXI communications failures? I would like to be able to tell if the MXI card in the PC or in the PXI chassis is causing the problem or if the cable is at fault.

Hello,

Since you are posting in the PXI section, I am assuming that you are using either a MXI-3 or MXI-4 configuration. To troubelshoot MXI problems, you can first follow the LB below:

Furthermore, if you have another MXI system that's verified to be working, by swapping the MXI interface and controller cards from two different systems will also help determine which end of the system is at fault. You can also disconnect the MXI interface card (PC side) from the controller (PXI side) and check with Windows Device Manager for any warning or errors for the interface card (usually a DMA conflict). Removing all the modules from the PXI chassis to isolate the problem to the MXI controller only also helps. If you find out more details about the problem, please post the troubleshooting steps you went through and be specific about the error/warning you have received.
