PXI-8156 will not boot past hard drive detection screen

I have a PXI-8156 that will not boot after installing a new 60 gb hdd and installing windows xp. Is this due to the size of the drive? I have a slightly newer PXI-8176 that the harddrive works fine in when in the same chasis (PXI-1002). When I go into the bios it only show 8gb as the hdd size. Is there a flash for this bios?

This may happen if the controller is older and was not designed to detect today's larger hard drives. This also accounts for your 8176 working being that it is a newer controller. I was able to find a 3rd party software package from Ontrack that may allow the larger hard drive to be detected by any older system/bios. This is not a tested solution, but I have provided the url below in case it is an option worth pursuing in your situation.
