PXI remote controller

How do i choose PXI controller -

1.  When should i pick Remote PCIe controller over Inbuilt PXI controller ?

2. Can I  buy a high RAM/hi speed controller desktop PC with remote PCIe board  and avoid buying high cost PXI inbuilt controller

3. What are effects on Real time testing while using remote PCIe controller

95% of my applications use a good rackmount PC (decent CPU, full up RAM, and RAID 1) and use MXI Express to connect up to a PXI chassis.  Each instrument is technically sharing the PCIe bus.  But that only really matters if you need a really high throughput.

About the only time I would use a built-in controller would be when I need an RT system or am trying to make a stand alone PXI chassis.
