Problem MXI-4 with PCI-8331 under Windows 7 64 bit only shows Connection Monitor no devices

To any that may be able to help please, we are setting up a new System, PXI-1042 Chassis with MXI-4 with a PCI8331 PCI card in PC.  Windows 7 OS 64 bit edition.  Additional cards fitted to chassis are PXI6723, PXI7813R, PXI8461, PXI4110, PXI4065.  Our problem is after installing the supplied NI PXI Platform Services June 2010 Ver 2.5.6 and also NI System Driver Set Aug 2010 (501710A-01)  we find that the control monitor loads on startup and is loaded in devices under hardware and the PCI-PCI bridge under system devices is present but shows no resources being used. (There is also a another PCI-PCI Bridge under system devices that we have found that appears to be the Nvidia PCI-e Graphics card).  At this point if we go into MAX Software we see the Card undefined which we can manually define as PXI-1042  (PXI-1042Q????  also present and tried).  This appears to allow the change  with a Timeout error relating to the Software option? Not sure...  What is evident is that none of the PXI additional cards are being detected by the Max software or the PC's Device manager.  We are not sure if this is a Windows 7 issue or a 64 bit issue and would appreciate any feedback or suggestions.  Our Motherboard is a new Chipset Gigabyte Z68XP-D3 (Intel Z68 Chipset) Fullsize Motherboard with Asus EN210 - 1TB Nvidia graphics Card.

Thanks in advance to anyone who may be able to assist.

Thomas,

Are the power and link lights lit on both MXI-4 cards?  I ask because you're not seeing the cards in device manager, which sounds like a hardware problem.  Unless they're showing up as unknown devices, which would point to a driver issue.  Since all of your PXI cards are missing from device manager then it's probably MXI-4 or the chassis.  The MXI-4 connection monitor will show up with only the PCI card plugged in, so that doesn't tell us about the link.

Hi Rkanna,

Since 2011, we have rebuilt our entire test fixture around a single USB-4065,

we no longer have the item used here.

I think it ended up being drivers, also remember to check the order in which you power everything up,

Thanks

Thomas

It was working last couple of days.

suddenly I see the red Cross on the 1042 chassis and the Led on the Chassis is changing from green to blinking red.

I have only one LED on the chassis.
