Hello,
I'm trying to determine if there is a way to remotely boot the PXIe-8130 controller. My motive is that I would like to control the unit via remote desktop from another PC. Remote desktop is able to shutdown the chassis remotely but I'm still not able to start up the chassis remotely. I'm trying to eliminate the need to physically push the power button on the chassis.
I noticed that the bios for the PXIe-8130 controller supports PXE network boot and after a little research I'm not sure if this is exactly what I want. I'm not entirely familiar with PXE network booting but I believe that what I really need is Wake-On-Lan. Does anyone know of a way to boot the PXIe-8130 into it's OS remotely? Either using PXE network boot or any other method possible.
Thank You,
Tim S.

Hey Tim,
I think I have what you are looking for! Please take a look at the KnowledgeBase that I have found for you titled Can My PXI or PXI Express System Be Turned On Using An Ethernet Connection? Please let me know if you have any further questions about this and have a great day!

Hi Nicholas,
I just wanted to let you know that the link you gave me was the perfect solution. I actually haven't tested it with the PXIe-1065 chassis yet but I used the attached VI in the knowledgebase to boot my desktop remotely and it worked flawlessly. This will help me out greatly for when I have to deploy a chassis to a remote location.
Thank you,
Tim S.
