Unable to set 1588 Ordinary Clock as the time reference in 6683H card

Hi,

I am trying to set 1588 Ordinary Clock as the time reference of NI-PXI 6683H but I can't.

I got an error (Error- 1074118562 occurred at niSync set time reference(1588 ordinary clock).vi)

Possible reason:(Hex 0xBFFA405E) The network interface associated with the device was not found. (Please go through the attachment for more details.)

I have installed the 1588 PCI card to my host system and 6683H in PXI chassis. I have connected ethernet between PCI 1588 card and 6683H.

card.

Please suggest me to overcome this problem. I have changed ethernet cable also.

It sounds like the Ethernet adapter on the 6683H is disabled. If you're on a Pharlap host, you can do that in MAX (see step Section 1 Step 3 here). Otherwise you'll have to do it through your OS.

I had the same error code (1074118562) and stumble on this post. Since there is no answer, I'm posting what I've done to make it work.

My setup is under Pharlap (LV RT).

What I noticed is that there is a extra Ethernet adapter that shows up in MAX on the PXI system. In my case it is Ethernet Adapter eth2. It was previously disabled... So, I enabled it:

I also noticed in the PXI RT console had a nisyc adapter

So, in the end, you need to enable the NIC from the Config page of the PXIe not the configuration of the 6683H...

Once enabled, you'll be able to set the time reference as 1588

hope this helps
