Upgrading RIO software on RT Controller

Hi,
I have installed RIO 1.3.1 on my host PC but unable to do the same to my RT controller.
Clicking on software upgrade in MAX, the system believes that RIO 1.3.0 is installed on my host and does not proceed with the upgrade.

In addition I have updated to LabView 7.1.1 and run time engine 7.1.1 and these are not shown in MAX.
When starting LabView you see that the upgrade was done?
Thanks

I would try to delete all files on the RT-Target 8backup your VIs etc. first of course), either via MAX, or via the explorer and FTP. After that reinstall all needed software and drivers.

Hi-

The behavior you are seeing is expected (if not desired).  MAX will only show LV 7.1, and the cRIO controller will only show RIO 1.3.0.  The best thing to do to ensure you have the right software on the controller is to uninstall the software (by deleting it) or just reformatting the controller (this is a little faster).  You can then install the new SW and be assured the correct versions are downloaded to the controller.

If this is the only solution it is not a very professianal one.
Come on NI, I do not need to waste time "managing" my software updates - and I paid 600€ for installation!!

I do apologize, and recognize that this is not correct behavior.  At NI we strive to make our customers successful and try to continually improve our products.  In this case we created two separate patches in order to improve functionality, yet neglected to increment versioning in MAX.  I could try to go into an explanation of how this happened, however, that would not change the fact that it did.  Again, please accept our apologies for the inconvenience.

Let us face it - it is the weakest point of LabView that through an Internet connection it cannot keep itself up to date by using an installation script - I guess I am spoiled by my OS X
