What order do I install drivers?

Hi,

I just have a quick one.  I am re-installing Win XP after some problems.  I will next need to install the NI drivers and software.  I have the disks but not the quick start manuals.  My question- just what order do I install: NIDAQ and MAX, MXI-4, and LV runtime?  The PXI chassis has a PXI-6221(?) M-series DAQ.

Does MAX need to be in place before the mixi drivers?

Thanks,

John Spencer

Hey John,

Take a look at this KnowledgeBase : KnowledgeBase 2WAFMJOK: Order of Installation for Multiple National Instruments Hardware and Softwar...

This should be able to answer your questions

John Spencer,

Are you installing on to a NI PXI Embedded Controller with in an NI PXI Chassis?  If so, does the Windows Device Manager show any "Other Devices" that do not have drivers after you have applied the "NI PXI Platform Services" and/or the latest "NI Device Drivers DVD"?

Justin_E,

Your link applies to LabVIEW 7.1 and is a wee bit stale.  Don't you think that it should be updated for 8.0.1, 8.2.1, 8.6.1?

Kevin.
