Why does the PXI-1031 prevent my computer from starting up

Hi,

I have a question about the PXI-1031 and computer connection. If the PXI-1031 is not turned on before the computer, it will not be recognized, and simply restarting the computer will not work either, the computer must be turned off completely.  The problem is that more than half the time, the computer (windows xp) will not start up unless the PXI-1031 is disconnected from the computer.  When this happens, the only way to get the computer to start is to turn the PXI-1031 off and on before starting up the computer.

Any suggestions?

Hi tkuci,

This sounds like a potential BIOS issue with your computer system.  In the case where the PXI-1031 is turned on beforehand, w may help you ghat exact behavior do you see from the computer when it will not boot up ?  Also, what model computer are you using, and is it a desktop or laptop?  Here are some links that might give you an idea of what could be happening with your system
