Windows XP 32-bit Virtual Memory Tuning.

PXIe-8133 (with /3GB and /userva=2560 in boot.ini):

Total Physical Memory = 4,096 MB

Available Physical Memory = 2.45 GB

Total Virtual Memory = 2.50 GB

Available Virtual Memory = 2.46 GB

Page File Space = 5.03 GB

In addition:

PXIe-8115 has a Intel HD3000 graphics card.

PXIe-8133 has a ATI Radeon E2400 graphics card.

I know the Intel card shares the system RAM.  I need to check the ATI card...

I am starting to suspect that this is a graphics card issue.

PXIe-8133 hosts a Core-i7 820QM processor (now obsolete) with a separate ATI graphics card (with, I think, it's own memory).

PXIe-8115 hosts a Core-i5 2510E processor which has a built in Intel HD graphics card which shares the system RAM.  There should be a way to control how much is used by the GPU, but this is missing from the NI BIOS! 😞

Hi Christopher,

In this case it is the hardware that sets the limit, so there is no configuration adjustment you could make that would help. Unforunately by forcing the memory, you are reallocating memory used by the graphics driver. Due to the nature of the graphics card, which does not have its own memory, you need the extra memory reserved for the graphics driver to function properly.

Kind regards,
