We're using the PCI-6601 with Windows XP x86 and we want to move to Windows XP x64.
I notced the following discussion on this forum:

Have there been any updates on supporting XP x64? So far the latest version of the software only supports Vista x64, and we're unable to use that for our application.
Thanks.
Erik

Hello Erik,
Thank you for using NI support. As of now, we still don't have support for Windows XP x64, and because of the mass amount of Windows users moving from XP to Vista and beyond it's doubtful that we will have support for XP x64 in the future. As of now, your best bet is to stick with your current OS, or if you must move to 64-bit then, as you already mentioned, we do support Vista x64. I hope this helps.

Thanks for the update.
Unfortunately, Vista x64 isn't an option for us because Vista has some existing issues that would substantially affect our application's performance. We're disappointed because we really wanted to move to x64, but it would be nice if it was supported.

Another option might be using Windows 7 x64. I know several companies who are more comfortable moving to Windows 7 and NI-DAQmx 9.0.2, just released, officially supported Windows 7, both x86 and x64. We've seen very good performance on Windows 7 based test systems internally. Windows 7 officially releases October 22nd.

Seth,
Thanks for the update. I don't think we will be going to Windows 7 (I wish!) because of other system performance considerations, but if we decide to later on then I'll definitely try it out.
