can PXI 8196 RT booted with Windows OS and does it allow dual booting

I would like to know, whether it is possible to use PXI 8196 RT controller with windows operating system. and can 8196RT allow dual booting option with any real time OS.

Yes, the 8196 RT controller can do this.  Specifically look at this KB.

Further I would like continue with some of my doubts…

I found the PXI 8196 Manual but I could not find PXI 8196 RT manual.. at ni.com/manuals..  What is the difference between PXI 8196 and PXI 8196RT

In the NI website… all explanations were provided with respect to PXI 8196 with PXI 8196RT being under explained…

Also in the PXI advisor link… The windows OS is not available for selection corresponding to PXI 8196RT… and only available for PXI 8196. (refer attached pictures) Does this means windows will not work with 8196RT.. Please clarify this.. Since I had been told by NI alliance company representative and NI experts in India.. that PXI 8196RT will not work with windows and cannot have dual booting… only PXI 8196 can do those things.. Is this true…

The only difference between the 8196 and 8196 RT is what operating system is preinstalled.  To get a dual boot system pre-installed, you need to make a specific request for that.  I'm not sure if that's an option that is publically available on our website.  You may have to speak to one of our sales representatives.  You say that you have already ordered the RT version with a dual-boot option -- where did you select that option?

I placed an purchase order for 8196RT with dual boot with one of the NI alliance partner... and they returned me and told the story.. that 8196RT wont do dual booting..so they offered 8196 with dual booting

I would like to know Mr, Trey... What will I gain and lose... If I select PXI 8196 with dual boot (windows and Labview RT embedded OS) instead of PXI 8196RT with dual boot ( windows and Labview RT embedded OS). clarify me interms of hardware loop time if any...

The only difference between the PXI-8196 and PXI-8196 RT is what operating system is preinstalled.  A dual boot of either type is identical.  It has the same processor, the same RAM, and other specs.  The loop time should be the same.
