faster PXI controller?

What is the chance of NI offering a faster controller in the very near future?

This is pretty much the fastest work horse you are offering right now?

Hi AndyN,

 

Is there a particular application you are needing to use a better controller? The NI PXIe-8133 is faster then the PXI-8110 that you have linked. PXIe systems are much faster systems. Is there a particular reason why you would like a faster PXI?

I need the controller to do image acqusition, processing and transfering at 30-60fps. Additionally I need it to process some laser range finder data at 40Hz, a bit of analog and digital I/O and Motion control on 8 axes as fast as possible. All in real time with TCPIP communicatin and interface porting to an external computer. 

The NI PXIe-8133  looks good but the problem is I have  several PXI cards (5 to be exact). Some of them do not exist in the PXIe format, others are too expensive to buy...

In pure computations the old NI 8110 is simply faster than than 8133.

Hello Andy,

 

Have you considered the 2.66Ghz i7 PXI- 8109 RT controller https://www.ni.com/en-us/support/model.pxi-8109.html? The PXI 8109 contains the next generation processor subsequent to the quad core device in the PXI 8110 and resultantly might have some processing speed advantages over the quad core architecture.
